Finding (y)our Why

Simon Sinek wrote a thought provoking book called Start with Why. It has played an immeasurable role in discerning the difference between How and Why we conduct our business.

As urban spaces grapple with pollution, spacial constraints, and lack of greenery, it is no secret that Living-Walls have made a giant leap forward into the lexicon of landscape options and aesthetics. From TV Shows like Rock the Block, to hospitality applications such as The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, and retail merchandising such as Roger’s Garden’s, the craving for experiential plant installations is front and center. But Why?

We believe “Plants grow People!” It is our conviction that above and beyond the aesthetic benefits, which are many, Vertical Gardens draw us closer to nature and by extension connect people, plants, and the communities that surround us.

Being apart of the gardening community is a journey shared that brings people together. Here are just some of the other benefits:

  1. Air Quality Improvement: Plants naturally filter pollutants, providing cleaner air for urban dwellers.

  2. Biodiversity: Living walls offer habitats for various species, promoting ecological diversity.

  3. Natural Cooling: Green walls can reduce the urban heat island effect, leading to cooler city areas.

  4. Aesthetic Enhancement: They offer a visual respite in concrete jungles, elevating the overall ambiance of urban spaces.

  5. Wellness and Wellbeing: Exposure to greenery has been shown to reduce stress, improve mood, and enhance overall well-being.

  6. Energy Efficiency: Living walls act as natural insulators, reducing the need for heating and cooling, thus lowering energy costs.

  7. Building Protection: They act as a protective shield, reducing wear and tear from weather elements, potentially extending the building's lifespan.

  8. Property Value: Green structures are in demand and can enhance property valuation.

  9. Noise Reduction: Plants can act as natural sound barriers, creating quieter interiors especially in bustling urban areas.

  10. Branding and Image: Being eco-conscious is a great branding strategy, and living walls can enhance a company's or building's image as environmentally responsible.

  11. Food: The Varden system allows for cultivation of leafy herbs and culinary herbs. We use this system for all of our installations whether edible or ornamental.
